HMRC Fuel Duty Reclaim - Telephone Number

I'm looking to chase up our fuel duty reclaim with the Mineral Oils Relief Centre in Newcastle. I thought that there was an old post on ribnet with the direct telephone number, however my searches have proved fruitless....

Does anyone have the direct telephone number?

Dont worry they are very slow in paying (usually about 6 weeks)

They always seem to get a backlog at this time of year, with everyone submitting their claims at the end of the season. Last year, we submitted our claim at the end of September and did not get a cheque until the end of December. This year we submitted the claim a bit earlier and got a cheque within 4 weeks.

Guys

You can put these in every 3 months if you want, no need to be sitting waiting for a whole season's rebate all at once!

We submit ours every month and they generally run at a 6 week lag time.

There is no limit on the number of submissions or frequency, as long as your claim is for £250 or more

Have a great Christmas and fingers crossed for a good 2012

Regards
Steve

The old memory banks seem to be failing, I was sure it was minimum £250 and 3 months but have just re read the notice and you are right.

Finally got to the bottom of this telephone number- It was a great system and worked but the HMRC have removed that telephone number and you can no longer call direct to them. The on line INFO- http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/budget2011/tiin6330.pdf

Their contact details are now a call centre here
HMRC Contact us
0845 010 9000 has to be the longest answer machine option I have heard, but the operator who answers is not attached to minerals oil relief so not much help

They advise to write direct to

Minerals Oil Relief Cntre
Benton Park View
Newcastle Upon Tyne
NE98 1ZZ
