Coding for survey work?

We have been developing a system for videoing the seabed in the famously fast flowing waters round these parts and there is some interest in doing surveys with said equipment.

Does our RIB need to be coded if we are being paid to bob around out there?

I have done some survey work with a company in Southampton who work for the Port Authority and they asked for my coded boat everytime until recently the Port Authority supplied one of their craft for the work. I think the answer Martin is yes as it is for gain

In a word - yes!

We're not a RIB and somewhat larger but come under the workboat code - the appropriate class for distance from safe hardbour etc.
