We almost invariably use The Wheatsheaf. The former manager purchased it back in April and ensures a warm welcome and tasty, promptly served and good value food from a wide menu. Their Chilli Beef Nachos take a lot of beating both in terms of value and taste (Scurvey Crew would have them every day if he could!).

Nothing wrong with Kings Head or Bugle (although the former does not do food all day) but they tend to be a bit ordinary IMHO.

Haven't tried The George so can't comment: the menu looks nice, if somewhat pricey. I also think that their dress code would preclude sailing gear which is accepted in the other places.

Agree with the above, Wheatsheaf everytime. Very friendly, good quality food and dont mind crews turning up with their gear and close to the moorings on the wall. Can get busy on Sunday lunchtimes.

I've been to The George several times now, on a sunny day their lawn (which goes down to the water/small beach) is lovely. Steak and chips with bottle of rose is hard to beat!

It's restaurant prices though, rather than pub prices.
