Seems its been refloated now, but shows how vulnerable we in Europe are. Going the long way round the cape would add lots of cost and i'm not sure they could stack them so high with the seas off the cape either

That's why I'm happy mine is travelling overland all the way from the factory in the back of Serge's old van.

No I think my Serge is a little more "handy" shall we say. Delays at the border are but a mere irritation he sweeps aside. I am trusting in him to get me tri-hulled by mid April.

What Border? The messy part of his job will be polishing off the skid marks left by terrified cross-channellers. Think of it as a PDI...

The news was a bit premature yesterday saying they had refloated the container ship, looks like it could be stuck there a long time.

I was just looking at the latest images. What do you reckon... any helicopters powerful enough to unload part of the load? Land based massive winches to pull it straight? Thunderbird 2 with Firefly pod?

In an associated thought... We have exceptionally enterprising retired neighbours... lifetime of sailing experience... now motorcycle touring etc. They attended a wedding in India just pre-Covid and took a cabin on a container ship all the way back home and through the canal which they said was an amazing experience.
