We found UK to be pretty much the same as or cheaper than costs in our particular far flung part of Canada this summer on our visit home. The exception being petrol or diesel of course. The trip home was made financially easier by a) the strength of the CAD$ vs. GBP and b) My sister lending me her LR3 for a couple of weeks.

Best thing about visiting? (Aside from family and friends or the airport on the way back to Canada.....) Decent beer. God I miss decent beer.

buy van then sell

I dont know how feasable it might be for you but whenever we travel as a family in New Zealand/Australia/America we always buy a van outright for our stay and then sell it at the end of our vacation. As long as you price it right you can sell very quickly. I know that hiring campers here is around £600-700 per week which in my opinion is ridiculous. Cheaper to hire a boat for that amount time!

They often do deals if you move from one to another where you get the second one at a much reduced rate.

The four of us have used them occationally, and do rate them, but have only ever done a couple of nights at a time.

Nasher.
Travelodge beds are shit! Too soft.

Thames RIB ride

Starting to put some of the tours together.
Booked the " Ultimate london Adventure" from London RIB voyages.
Special offer of 1/2 price at the moment on gift vouchers for the cruise, which made it a great deal for us.
Looks like a good fun
cheers Dal
