You could see that one coming as Steve Curtis walked past a 225 on the back of a Cougar with a 2.3 over his shoulder!

James May's driving a Triumph Herald.... with a sailing rig!

I reckon if he had made the front of his Hi-Lux more water friendly he would have done a whole lot better. Plus if he'd have stuck some Tubes on it then he deifinitely would have succeeded

I think its already for sale

http://www.cougar-powerboats.com/start/solent/links.asp

They wrecked a 2.3hp too, when the dampervan sunk! Was a good Top Gear though, that Hilux would not be alot more slippery in its underwater profile to plane!

tubes would have been the answer - but if he had just trimmed the engine down I think he would have kept the nose up and got home the right way up.

I thought trimming the engine out would help to lift the bow/ bonnet!
It definatly stuffed it a few times!

They said it was a reservoir... surprised they were allowed to pollute with fuel, coolant and engine oil!

If they'd wacked some pretty usful bilge pumps inside then it's quite possible he'd have made it. Shame the outboards took a dunking tho, looks like that BF2 is up for sale on the Solent Honda website.

I wonder what Honda think of mounting their 225 on the back of a TOYbOTA and vice-versa.

Honda leased a plant I worked in once and payed off a local hire company to get rid of the Toyota fork lift trucks used in the plant because they had a long term 10 year contract with the lease holders. The hire comany must have been rubbing their hands together over that one.
