threads that lack drama

I'm sorry to say it, but over the last couple of months the threads have lost something. These days, all we see is matey jokes, genuinely helpful contributions, and reasoned polite argument - and I'm sick of it. Ribs are obviously getting relatively cheap and all sorts of respectable types are drowning out the bullies, control freaks and megalomaniacs that generally characterize expensive male-toy fora. How about an attack on this chap Priddy? Or an attack by this chap Priddy? Dirk, how about some low insults? JWalker, can we have an anti-irish or english or welsh fusilade? I yearn for the days of libellous insults, banned members, desparate JKennett interventions and straightforward personal abuse. Come on lads lets have a dust-up. Charles, are you a bit of a rich tosser?

Nargh, the boys with big boats are just making up for lack of length in other departments. Either that or they ar'nt tough enough to handle the ride in a smaller boat. Wimps

Whats This

I am disappointed , what do you mean the forums are interesting, we log on here for info and sharing ideas, okay a laugh and a joke spice it up, but do we need insults come on, there are lots of chat rooms to log on to if you want that sort of carry on, or you could even try logging on to back yard wrestling , I think you might be in the pits of a bit of winter depression my friend , you dont have to take it out here on other forum members, all contribution is valuable whether you agree or disagree, and if you wind people up they will be less likely to come online and share ideas and information, thats what we are here for

"desparate JKennett interventions "
Heard a rumour the other day that JK was so desperate to bring sanity back to "ribnet" that he persuaded JF to start Boatmad, even gave him the software!!

"Charles, are you a bit of a rich tosser?" Who said he was rich?

Oh yeah? Like what london rent-boy? Ripping around the serpentine. Performing bizarre routines under blackfriars bridge. Get a life phil. Move to the coast.

Erm gavin, what is a donught?? Sounds like something dodgy from the Royal George.

I don't know much about ribs but I belive a donught is some sort of fishing platform that is towed behind a boat
The faster the donught travels the more fish you catch. Perhaps you may like to try it out, I'm sure some one will be only to pleased to demonstrate this to you.
It will be the most exciting fishing trip you've ever been on!!!

MMMmmmm......

Galefore, I sort of appreciate what you're saying, however, I'd follow Gavins comments by adding that I have enough abuse in my life without having to suffer it here as well.

Is it not enough that we have to put up with loutish behaviour on the streets - kids spitting and swearing - being afraid to walk late at night - suffering road rage / air rage and even supermarket trolly rage. We see it and hear it daily on prime time t.v - in professional sport - the school bus even - the list is endless of course - why therefore should we welcome or even expect to enjoy such behaviour on a forum where one wishes to escape such things?

You're right, the forum is taken up by gentlemen types wishing to exchange "in jokes" with eachother, advice, tips and knowledge. Long may it continue in that way.

Graeme Spencer.
