I get it before solo hikes and previously, dives too. I think it's the opposite of Complacency at work - it's your mind running all the scenarios and stuff to be done. Only very dull witted sorts never feel a twinge of trepidation

That's rule 32.

Here's no.33 Never run a LH prop on a RH gearbox unknowingly.

It makes backing off of the trailer rather confusing, close quarter handling becomes a nightmare when you've had a pint and most annoyingly, it destroys the gearbox bearing carrier when blatting to the pub and back (in reverse).

When I launched the boat at the ERR I was experiencing "the knot", just as it was disappearing and the same time yourself and Billy shouted my overheat alarm came on and it came straight back with a vengeance.

Luckily it was a duff sensor and once we were out the harbour normal service was resumed.

I get the feeling as I walk down to the beach, and when I'm rowing out? Will I drop an oar or row lock? has the bilge jammed and the boat flooded? Is it there? Is the dinghy there? Will the batteries be flat? Will it start? Will the lock be seized? Will the lockers have been robbed again? Until I've got on board, started her up and cast off, yes, there's that knot inside!!! Then it's bliss. Away from work, family, chores and contact... For a while.

And yes, any alarm or twitch in engine note brings the Knot back in an instant!
