spinlock deck vest life jacket

Hi

has anyone used these or tried them. I do like the idea of no crotch strap if they are any good. oh a should say I am 6 foot 2 20 stone and find a lot of life jackets not very comfortable.

Dave

They're not bad at all ! The RYA have instructor branded ones available at a discounted price to instructors.

Very comfortable but quite a short/small jacket

Hi Dave

Using a 150NM deckvest for 1,5 years now and very very happy with it as a replacement of a 150 nm secumar i used previously and i prefer it over any 'dingy' vest for using it in the RIB.

I like it because it is short/ compact/light and the collar is not leaving marks in my neck after wearing it a full (active) day moving around with buoy's and other equipment.(i.e. the collar is very wide, not rubbing any skin etcetera).

Never used it in the water though (and i would like to keep it that way) ...

good luck!

Gabor

Dave - if you hunt you might find a post from Ian at SeaSkills (username SeaSkills) who wasn't that impressed with their "in the water comfort" IIRC.

I thought they did come with crotch straps too?

Hi

It seems to depnd on the model see Spinlock Deck Vest, Life Jackets | Mailspeed Marine

or do I go with the tried and trusted crewsaver 190n? i can be doing anything from fishing to rescueing a boat to being on a rib to sailing so needs to be a good all rounder and this year I am going to treat myself to the most comfy one I can find!

I've got the spinlock 170n in a size 2. I'm ~15 stone and 5'11 and it fits a dream, really very comfy.

Mine comes with crutch straps though .. and I'm not a fan of those ...
