Shipping a trailer

A trailer has caught my eye on eBay, it all seems genuine enough so the next thing to look at is delivery. I'm not into driving long distances so I'd get it taken up the road if I could.

I've put a quote request on Shiply but anywhere else I should try?

Long shot, but any Ribnet members heading to Scotland next week? I'm down in Edinburgh on Wednesday for example so could haul back to Aberdeen. Assuming where-ever the trailer is coming from can make its way north.

I'm starting to get some quotes in from Shiply and they are circa £450.

I might have to start liking long distance driving.

Alan put s request on here. I benefitted from two rib netters in Nov to bring a parcel up from Yorkshire. You may not get it all the way to FW but you could get it up a bit for you.

I was hoping to be able to sort it myself before asking the Ribnet "massive" to go out their way and do me a favour but it is an option I had thought about.

With fuel so cheap at the moment your best bet is just to hit the road and do it your self. I've done a few long runs in the last couple of weeks (Scotland, Ireland). It's not so bad! Find your self a nice little B & B on booking.com (there are some incredible deals at this time of year) and it suddenly isn't quite so bad!

So long as you don't value your time! I'd guess Alan is looking at something like an 17 hr round trip... ... Assuming the traffic is ok.

Not sure if deal has been fixed but maybe it be the same price to buy some trailer close to your house ? If you add shipping cost or travel cost ...
Plus you did not look at it before you buy it.

Picked up my new trailer in Southampton two weeks ago. 900 mls round trip.
About £160 in diesel £20 tolls (M6) Premier Inn £80.

Still a lot less than £450. .
If Alan is heading for Aberdeen he'll be passing right past my house (literally).
If you want you're welcome to have it dropped off here and it can lie till you pick it up. I'm less than three hours from Fort William.
