If it is a scam, how does it work?

Probably a hacked Paypal account and he will pay you too much and want you to send him the change.

I think this a low quality one , but they do seem to be getting smarter ....more realistic cheap prices for boats that dont exist for example.

Still got tp go, got HSBC wanting me to tell them my account details for the account I have never had so I can pay in my accident compensation of 'up to £3350' ..for the accident I have never had.
I wonder how quick you part with your cash if you are called "darling"?

Check this site out. The last one on the list was my 59er that a scammer came after. I sent the e-mails across to the site and he/she? took it on. It drags on for a bit, but is quite entertaining and has a good finish. He/she hasn't done anything since, I hope all is ok..
What's the bloody point ??

Have you clicked the Paypal link he gave you?

I havent and I suggest you dont either BUT often you will find that the link takes you to a site that LOOKS like Paypal but actually isnt, you then proceed to enter all your bank details and hey presto you have just given them all the info they need to empty you out.

Ive seen a couple of these but my spam filter has dumped them.

This may not be the case in this instance but Im not opening the link incase.

Right clicking the link brings up the "properties" and it LOOKS genuine BUT....

I reckon if you give him your paypal email he'll send you a fake 'you've been paid' email with a scam link in it to hack your account.

Not exactly a scam but something to think about

talking to my neighbour yesterday who works for the police about scams and he was saying that Elecrtonic Hotel key cards with the magnetic strips are a good source of confidential information for some criminal gangs as on some the hotel puts all the customers billing details account numbers ect ,
when you check out unless the card is wiped clean all your details remain on that card until its wiped or used again by another customer
with the disposable ones don't throw it away in hotel or port litter bins until you cut across the strip or use a small magnet to wipe it clean .

Mart, that is an urban myth, not least because the most sophisticated card readers can get 226 characters out a card, and more likely those used in the hotel sector are less than 100. There is no logical systems reason for storing a whole load of customer info on the card either, the simplest systems aren't linked to billing at all, those which are certainly don't store your card details etc.

Thanks for that Cookee & Poly, I did have me doubts about needing all that info on just a door key ,,,,he's ,probelly trying to justify still having a job with all the gov cuts ,
I dont think the abandoned baby & seat left at the side of a rural road myth ever materialised either he was telling people about a couple of years back .
