Re polarize Dynamo

Does anybody know how to re polarize a Dynamo with
+
and
C
as the two terminals on the dynamo, they are both the same size.
Car is negative earth and it a 36 Bentley MK6 (as far as i can tell)

The dynamo thinks its a electric motor.
Will repolarization stop this??

Disconnect the regulater and use a lenghth of wire to FLASH the field windings from the non earth side of the battery, do it a few times, just flick the wire across the contact don't leave it connected.

There is 5 wires to the voltage reg, take them all off?

and use a lenghth of wire to FLASH the field windings from the non earth side of the battery,

so leave the battery connected and connect a cable to the positive side of the battery and flash which terminal??
the + or the C terminal?

do it a few times, just flick the wire across the contact don't leave it connected.

then connect all back again? after what period of time kitten>?

disconnect the reg from the dynamo, pull both wires off the dynamo
the one connected dirrectly to the field windings.
as soon as you like.
This is how I do mine and not being familiar with your set up I can't be specific.
