Jono

If you get some wheels off a shopping trolley you could mount them on the roof. Would save the support vehicles from having to turn you back the right way up

no matter what they say I will always love the Landies.
90 would always be my choice.
Cut my teeth on landies, 108 series IIa!!

Although I am looking at a Mitsubishi L200 Crew cab.
Looks great with bull bars and roll bars
Would have to change my name to Jim though!!!

You don't spit into the wind

Jono

I know what you get up to in 4x4s and I do hope you don't expect me to risk dirtying my immaculately valeted and cherished Range Rover on some muddy Spanish hillside

Does this new DEFENDER comes with that bumper staff that they have on the amusement park little cars?

Seriously, my advise don't buy a Freelander. We got a 2ltr brand new. We found that is sluggish and not that great for a 4x4 in general. We sold it 2 months later. Couldn't even tow (well short of) a trailer with a horse in it. To go up hill with three people in it we needed to put it in 2nd gear and keep it all they way at high revs. No torque what so ever.
If you get a Rover Jeep get a Land or Range. Although I prefer the BMW or better for a REAL jeep jeep that square thing that the US forces have (HAM-V?? is called??)

Well, if you think a Freelander's 'not that great for a 4x4', then I wouldn't advise you to buy a BMW X5 - it's about as useful in the rough stuff as a chocolate fireguard.

Hummer

Wouldn't mind one myself, but, I'm not sure if it would fit down the local country lanes, let alone the driveway.... (plus there's always a high purchase cost too).
