Mobile Broadband

Just about to move and ISP states up to ten days to transfer services over so I am going to get a mobile broadband service by purchasing a dongle or similar. Question I need to answer is- Do I have to buy that dongle from my present service provider or will any other operation work? I plan just to get a pay as you go so this will be used to cover me on the move period and then as a reserve so I dont need a full contract.
Any knowledge?

Just make sure that whichever carrier you go for (Voda, O2, Orange etc) has good 3G coverage for the area you will be using it.

Otherwise you will tear your hear out.

Dongles are networked locked, like phones, at least the ones i have come accross, you can get them unlocked depending on which model you have.

Huawei unlock codes

T mobile allow you to use your mobile phone sim in a dongle for your computer, not sure if any of the others do.

Depending on your own mobile phone/contract, you may be able to connect that to your pc and use that instead of buying the dongle.

But if you do go down the dongle route, just make sure, as said before, you check the 3g coverage in the area you plan to use it in

Hi Yes I have the new tel number and we have given three weeks notice. They will not start the change over stating when I notify I am moving it CAN take 5 dyas to stop the present home account and then 5 days to switch on the new one, (effectively two weeks). No amount of comms with the ISP has generated a reasonable response. The pain being no one offers what I have now as they can see it is costing them so I would like to keep what I have and to do so I guess a plan of mobile broadband is best for a couple of weeks (we hope)
