Nice find. As much as I love photography there is just no way I'm going to hang out the side of a paraffin budgie at dark o'clock. I don't think they make nappies big enough for a start!

Awesome - amazing - thank you Boston!!!

The ironic thing is the UK government have banned ordinary 100w lightbulbs - something to do with saving energy apparently.............

Nope that's what Britain is turning into. The ban is actually due in 2012 but ALL the big retailers have jumped on the band wagon to save the environment.

They still sell 500w halogen bulbs and 3kw fan heaters though!!!

i agree in a country like Australia or places like California an energy saving bulb is a good idea but in the UK it's different. The wasted energy is given off as heat which is pretty usefull in our climate for 9 months of the year!!!

Well that is exactly it. Our local utility company (Manitoba Hydro) was hyping those silly compact flourescent light (CFL) bulbs for a while. People quickly found out that they ended up having to heat their homes that much more since they were no longer getting the heat that incandescent bulbs would give off. Not only that, but people were getting ill from the putrid flourescent light these horrible things give off. It was also annoying having to wait 5 seconds for the light to come on after flipping the switch.

I observed 'earth hour' the other week by staying home and doing the dishes, the laundry, and vacuuming the house. All of the lights needed to be on so I wouldn't miss any dirt/dust while vacuuming. And of course it goes without saying that I had to turn the stereo up extra loud to hear it over the diswasher, washing machine & vacuum cleaner. It was times like this that I sure wished I had a self-cleaning oven.
