No, but we got buzzed by lots of low flying aircraft on Sat as they were taking off from the island, one was very low.

RIBase
It's a Robinson R-44 Raven II. No - I'm not a helicopter fanatic, the registration is key!
Robinson R-44 Raven II (G-TIMC) Aircraft Pictures & Photos - AirTeamImages.com (Previously G-CDUR) and a different colour scheme.

Seems it's had a few scraps too: Air Accidents Investigation: Robinson R44 Raven II, G-TIMC

Were they involved in filming the windsurfing events?

Nice Raven to fly. great when you have a window of opportunity to land in a location like that.slightly risky landing as it will vibrate on touchdown and sink into the sand a tad and potentially with 4 people on board could struggle upon take off but Nice Pics

Helicopter

Thanks for helicopter info, amazing I thought it looked risky landing on wet sand and later the wind really got up. They did not seem to have camera
equipment or seem interested in the windsurfers while they were racing.
on the hayling.co.uk site loads of people are moaning about microlite aircraft,
they did not seem to be any bother to me, not sure if you can land a helicopter
on a public beach though or is a sandbank a beach ? it was at low tide.
