First yauchts have tacked around the rock and are on there way home... would have loved to have been down in crookhaven to get out and see the trimirans at the rock. Was talking to one of the lads down there earlier and its supposed to be gusting. he reckons you would be doing well to kep up with the yauchts in the rib..

You are correct, Spin drift 2 Spindrift Racing | Official website | Maxi Trimaran, MOD70 & Decision 35 a multi hull has fantastic speed. Our ops yesterday told us 50knts is possible with correct conditions. Other multis are very close to this

We came across Spindrift 2 (or did she bear down on us?) whilst out by Durlston Head. The size and speed of this beast is truely majestic. She was about 20mins ahead of the 2nd boat even after this short time.
It was very interesting quite how far in the helm to her, probably closer than i would before putting in a tack.
The first picture shows an 8m RIB trying to keep up (it failed)

We too were out for the start of the Fastnet.

Our photographs, including the rubbish ones (!), are at this Dropbox link

This was our first trip after fitting new tubes. Very pleased with the result.

If you were there you may find yourself in one of the pics.

Thanks Ian found two with one coming clear of SpinDrift2, You certainly stayed amongst the fleet. We ran ahead with Multi hulls and let the fleet catch up at Hurst Point
