I think Alan is fibbing.
I drove past there about 2 weeks ago and it's at least 100 miles from the sea.........well either that, or he has got a bloody good telephoto lens!

Camera 'company willing' (U know what I mean) will be arriving in Greece mid next week.
If not will post it to you next week.
However, I have to admit I hadthoughts fo keeping it but the Sony Mavica thought that it was a bit better and although I'm happy with my £ 60 digi cam (bought about 7 years ago) I'll go for the Sony @ Christmas.

Hi Karl

Just reminding u that you can buy specialist bags like accuapacs for cameras. I am sure u must have seen myn it was floating around our house last year. They are good because they are cheep though they don't offer the camera much protection in rough stuff

hi dave,

how was cyprus?

I have used aquapacs before but find they don't allow a very good image to be obtained through the "clear" cover.

I spoke to dink last weekend and your advanced instructor assesment should be very interesting!!!!!!!

I will be out on the evening exercise to observe some candidates whilst RC will be assessing you and jane.............

4 boats mmhh we will have to give the bobs a number each??

cheers
karl

ps does your profile say terrorist??

No we can have bob, his aunty gladise his farther Jake and his wife mildrid. Simple!!!!!!!!

Yes cypress was great nice and hot no waves though Very dull. Tha course should be interesting I agree. As for a terrorist I only terrorise small sailing dinghy’s with Mike (in the UKSA is not far.) ha ha

Have u tried the specialist camera accuapacks they have a clear window that is made of a special film the photos are the same in or out you cant tell the difference.

Back on Page 1 of this thread (anyone remember that far back?) Pepper (gosh nearly typed Peeper there!) asked about housings.
Here are two identical shots taken into a mirror of my Canon A40.
Firstly, without housing.

And secondly taken with camera in housing.
Seems to my untutored eye that quality of piccie doesn't suffer.

Sure keeps camera dry and shock-proofed as well.
Also is supposedly Ok down to 100 ft. (!!!)

Keith your usual powers of deduction appear to be failing you.
Smoke and Mirrors is the answer.

Brian,
Where did you get the underwater housing from - is it a Canon part or made by someone else

No it is a standard Canon product.
It is a WP-DC200S Waterproof Case 30M/100ft.
Incidentally, unlike the Sony Movie housing I have, this case allows the full function of all of the cameras controls, including playback!
That impressed the hell out of me as you would normally expect to only have access to a sub-set of the controls once the camera is inside the housing.

I have or rather my other half has a Cannon G2 camera and would highly recommend it . It takes superb shots both during the day and during the night , however, the manual takes some reading but this is unavoidable with such high tech gadgets. It even has the facility for short movie providing your memory card is big enough. Just the thing to order from Santa
