I'll Try Safair on the home PC but at work I have to stick to the IE browser - but in answer to "BOATS" I'm trying again tonight and every other web site is working fine but B&O just won't load. Was going to put my boat up for sale this weekend but might have to use one of the competitors.
Real shame it's the market leader but really has to improve load times - it just hangs, seemingly for minutes, actually it is minutes, 5 + to load pages and some just go blue and load nothing.

Think a bit more housekeeping is needed

Its verging on unusable for me, so, so slow.
I can't be bothered with it anymore.
I notice Pistonheads have a boats section now, its cracking site for cars.

It now says:

"Database Connection error encountered

A new one on me.

boats and outboards so slow 4 mins to load up first page then just over 2mins per page after, its time to give up with b+o due to the fact you loose the will to live when your on the site (or trying to get on it)

Hi Guys,

I am as frustrated as you are with these problems, we have two new developers working on the problems and we are making headway, we have increased the CPU on the severs, purged the databases but we have a few more jobs to do, the site is working fine at times and struggling when we traffic at peak times.

Fingers crossed we should be running more smoothly again soon.

Stephen

They do seem to have some growing pains at the moment. To be honest I am surprised how long these problems have been going on, but I do know that they are committed to getting it sorted out.

Has anyone tried Apolloduck? Strange name, but it has been around for a while and has a much cleaner design than B&O.

John

Apolloduck is a great site BUT I have found that the adverts seem to be very old - normally you phone up to have some irate person ranting and raving that they haven't taken the ad off!!!

Apparently there is light at the end of the tunnel for Boats & Outboards and everything seems to be working much better now . . .

I found the rib intnl magazine website was the same.
I dont know why these sites dont have a life span for adverts, a month , or 3 months, then they are automatically
removed. If the item is not sold, the seller can repost the advert.

Nick.

Thanks guys, it has been a frustrating few weeks but I think we are getting there now. The site seems to be running a lot faster now and we are gradualy dealing with all the little gremlins.

Thanks for everyones feedback.
