Is this for real?

I watched the Bear Grylls "Lost in the Rockies" episode this evening.
I have a feeling this should be a childrens show, possibly put to animation.
This Bear Grylls must believe he is a super hero. If you watch closely he contradicts himself constantly. He also seems to want the camera more than anything else. It appears he has a very high opinion of himself.

I've read some things about this gentlemen by searching the web and all I can find is "self promotion" with little substance. I would definitely not want to be stuck with him in the wilderness, especially after seeing the multiple mistakes he made while wandering in the Rockies.

This individual and this program were simply foolish.

I thought he was ex-SAS? maybe the years of anonimity have done for him and he's got that almost incurable "Ben Fogle on Castaway" syndrome where there appeared to be one lot who luvvied it up for the cmaeras (sponsorship deals abounding) and another lot of really scruffy people who did all the collar and planning and stuff.

What was controversial about his crossing? Other than there was some issue of jet boat performance.

Funny you should say that. Have you seen Toy Story?

"You aren't the real Buzz Lightyear! You're - you're just an action figure!"

I don't remember being there!

the controversy was that he claimed our own Alan Priddy never completed his first Atlantic crossing so many years previously without assistance. But he was a big fibber and Alan sent him a nasty letter!

Dirk you are awful .....but I like you!
