Yarmouth for lunch Saturday 6 November

Three of the four girls at work (for two of whom first time in a rib and of whom one non-swimmer) and I are thinking of going from Poole to Yarmouth for lunch at The Wheatsheaf on Saturday to celebrate our victory in the firm's pub quiz. It will need to be fairly early (say, midday) since, with the tides, we need to be back in Poole by 2.40 pm if we are to get entry into the marina before dark.

Would be good to meet up with anyone who wants to cruise in company/join us for lunch.

David

Hi Dave
Hmmm - weather for Saturday looks wet and windy, but Sunday is currently forecast to be no wind and sunny. May be able to make Saturday with Rick, but would prefer Sunday in the sun!

Not sure how much they'll appreciate being treated as televisions - but you're welcome to try: they're easy enough on the eyes!

Don't know that Saturday is all that bad at present but agree that Sunday is the better of the two.

I tend to agree on that one and Sunday gives us an extra half hour or so extra to get back into the marina because of the later tides. Let's go for Sunday instead.

Pete, I'm aiming to be launched around 10.30. After allowing for a full briefing for the newbies, should be available to RV off Parkstone Yacht Club around 10.45:? Does that suit you? If so, that should get us to Yarmouth just before 11.45 in time for lunch at midday.

David

In case anyone wants to run up with us from Southampton, we'll be leaving Saxon Wharf at about 10.30, may pop in to Hythe to fuel-up (can't remember how much is left in the tank) and will potter along to Yarmouth to get there for about the same time as the others.

Not sure what the camera's recording ...... but I'm sure that Gavin's flattered

Will try and capture bikinis, but am not sure that the weather will be right.

Crew now still three plus me - now only one from work but still all female!

Off PYC at 10.35: see y'all there or at The Wheatsheaf at midday.

Just returned from a highly successful trip in which weather conditions were sufficient to be interesting without terrifying the nervous newbies. Here's what my camera took:

I took a few others as well but on a different camera setting which for some reason won't allow them to be uploaded.

Hopefully the others will be able to post theirs but it was great to meet up with Blue Ray and Nestor and have a few drinks and exchange gossip. The nachos were, of course, as good as ever! Sorry that Black Gold missed the change of date but hope to meet up in the future.

Tam

So glad you enjoyed the trip and welcome to Ribnet. You're also more than welcome to come out again and I'm sure that others will be able to give advice about possibilities for choice of boat.

You were missing from the pictures I posted earlier, so here's one with you:

And just to prove that we really did go by RIB, here's a few piccies of the boats!
Avocet leaving Yarmouth with his harem, and Blue Ray, Nestor and Grimalkin getting ready to leave from the Yarmouth Pontoon - heavily weighed down by two tons of Nachos.

Yarmouth Trip

Hey guys, now that my fingers have thawed out I just wanted to write and say a huge thank you to all that made the day so brilliant. I did at one point think I was going to die but with Davids steady hand at the wheel I soon got into it and even drove on the way home!!!

Thanks to Simon, Pete, Trevor and family from all the Tuesday Club girls. I for one are definitely hooked and I think its time the Tuesday Club invested in a RIB!!!!

Bikinis next time we promise.

Much Love and hope to see you all again. XXXXX

Now there's a promise! I am sure the number of RIBs out on that cruise will go throught the roof.
Glad you enjoyed it, sorry I could not get along to this one
