The most fantastic country to drive around.3 days of gale force winds snow rain hail sun and lava rock being blown across the roads. Never a dull moment. We flew icelandair who were bang on time and arrived 30 mins ahead of schedule good tail winds . Go before sleazy jet ruin it !

Where did you go in Iceland, apart from the city we flew north to the Artic circle and that was a flight to remember in a 50 seat fokker (yes it was too). Did you go and eat at the revolving restaurant? Also Iceland air were great

We ate in a great place call Grill Market Grillmarkaðurinn which was really good .
The trip was a Fly Drive and we had a Nissan Squashy! which was ok.
We did about 250k mostly on ice and gravel roads following the Golden Circle route which takes in a lot of fantastic stuff Geysir Gullfoss etc .
Next time I would go for longer , we always felt we needed to push on to see as much as possible and an extra 2 days would make it more relaxed .At least it stays light well into the evening .
All in a great place and in some ways the extreme weather added to the experience ,

that's what you get when you fly with a budget air line - a 250k drive to the country that you thought you were going too....
