I'm thinking of launching on Thurs, leaving in overnight for a hassle free depart on Fri am.

May have another Fal based Humber coming with us.

I was hoping to do the same, but busy workwise means an early drive down on Friday.
Should mean we're on the Water by 11am-hopefully earlier! ....What about the rest?

If the weather's ok then I'll be leaving on thursday and staying down in Penzance.

I'm going to look at the tidal flows now but I do have a couple of questions...

1, Anyone bringing a tender to get on and off the beach at the campsite or can we use one of the smaller ribs?

2, Mollers & Jim where do you want us to meet you on fri at around 11am?

I've got a 300+ mile tow first so don't worry about us, we'll catch up or meet you in the Fraggle Rock, Weather dependant

High water in Penzance is 7.57 Friday morning, so I'd be aiming to be on the water early and gone, as I think you only have a 2 hour window to launch and clear the harbour after high water, the locals my know better

Jim

Also, the logistics of getting 6 boats in and trailers/vehicles dealt with will take an hour or two.

We're now defo 3 boats leaving Fal. Ian the mot man will be coming along with his 6.5m Humber.

All,

Having received so many conflicting views on when I will be able to launch after HW there is no way I can get down for 9.30 on Friday due to commitments at home. I was planning on catching the tide in the afternoon but having thought about this I don't want to be travelling alone, against the tide and loosing the light.

So for this reason I regretfully advise I am pulling out. I hope you all have a fantastic trip, I will be looking into doing this trip another time when the tide times are a bit more reasonable and out of the crazy holiday season.

Look forward to seeing the pics/video's/stories.

Alex (AJ)

An unhelpful post

To clarify ;

I'm not going, I've never actually said I was going, I'm not getting up early , I'm not going on anyone elses boat, I'm not taking my own boat (or beast as Matt calls it and he's still not got to drive it yet / Matt H has a cruel sense of humour) , AJ wont be wearing a Mankini or crocs (or going ?) , Whisper has some nice graphs of stuff that doesn't concern me as I'm not going(and lots of boats), I'm not buying a 585 pro, I will be having a lie in while you all sit in traffic/ go enjoy yourselves , I'm 100% not going as I'm working Sat & doing RNLI stuff Sunday., Avocet just did it in perfect weather on one engine and one gearbox so hats off to him for that and I'm not going.

Thanks

PeterM out

Helpful ? Nah - didnt think so .....
