Definitely. The tow the Plym is a breeze, into Cornwall and it becomes a bit of a drag. As mentioned, the sea leg from Plym West is easy with several good lunch spots if required.

Tim

Parking at weekends can get a bit full but if you arrive on the Thursday you should have no problem in the QAB marina car park (first come etc) Its very secure with 24hr security and CCTV.

Launching for you will be easy, huge slip but depending on the time you plan to get there I would certainly use the marina to launch off the trailer. At lowish water you would probably have to reverse the Jeep in a fair way. I have used them before, just makes it easier. However I presume they stop at about 5pm although you can still launch yourself.

Yellow line on the image shows the route in and the slip. Loads of space to manoeuvre.

If this weather continues to be settled Scilly's looks like it might be on

Spoken to Bryher campsite this afternoon and they still have spaces for the nights of the 26 / 27th July.

Have also spoken with the harbour master and although he cant say for definite at the moment he has said he should be able to find us some moorings for those who want to stay afloat. Said to call back nearer the time.

Fingers crossed the weather remains good for the next few weeks

We just bung the hook off of Anneka's jetty, it's free and perfect unless conditions turn grim, then an HM mooring can be picked up.

The first long range computer forecasts are coming through and the last few runs look good for Fri 26th with a very warm air mass over us.

An update from me....

Ribs leaving from Penzance

Thursday 25th

To avoid a long road trip on the friday morning I have found a campsite near to Penzance that have 3 spaces on Thursday 25th, we can park our ribs on the pitch, the cost is £15 for the night. Please PM me if you want the details.

Friday 26th

Meet at the slipway at around 09:30 this will give us time to launch and secure the trailers, pay for parking etc (parking can be paid over the phone).

11:00am RV with the Ribs arriving by sea (we still need a meet up point, please let me know if you have any preferences)

We will be camping at the Bryher Campsite for Fri and Sat night, I have the booking form but didn't want to book until we have seen the weather forecast. Or should we just book anyway?

Saturday 27th

A day cruising around Scilly's

Sunday 28th

The run back to Penzance after breakfast, recover boats, a bite to eat and head home.

Boats leaving Penzance:

Whisper
AJ.
Matt h
Adamn
Maximus

Boats arriving by sea from Plymouth

Giddyup 3
Landord
Tim&Linda

Can you guys contact each other regarding your arrangements for cruising down to Penzance, also where do you want to RV with us at 11am on the Friday?

We have plenty of space for campers and boats with loo/shower facilities. Just outside of Falmouth should anyone wish to overnight.

Nos, Bedajim and DHD will vouch for the standard of accom.

Yeah, this is very doable and it will save us £60 (£45 unsecured car parking and £15 camping that we would have to book in advance).

It will make the cruise around 60 nm each way at a guess?

But having said this the reason we are going from Penzance is to accommodate the smaller ribs that are going, so I think it's best to stick to our plan

Thanks for the invite though Are you joining us Mollers?

Hi does anyone know how much it is to leave your trailer at Penzance for the 3 days?
If not I will try and get down there next week and ask. I know it's £12 to launch.
