Although conditions were very calm for us the first boat we had to change course for did come and go on the radar. As it happens we did see it and it turned out to be a fishing boat.

Our approch was to zoom out to 6nm and then in to .125nm so that we could keep an "eye" on the other boats. In between these ranges we tracked boats and altered course as and when required.

P.S. Did you see a large Delta RIB with a cabin on anywhere in the Channel islands?

No sign of the delta rib but did see a mark 2 Scorpion with Yellow tubes and an evinrude in the outer harbour in St PP on Saturday

I am interested to know how effective a radar would have been and also there seems to be a bit of a grey area as it if they are harmful if too close to the crew

One of my crew seemed to think that the frequency the radar transmitted at wasn't going to cause to many problems.

It will be hard to tell in my case though

Not very large, 7.5m, no cabin, rather a wheel-house with two intrepid ribsters I chucked out of plane at 10000ft on Sunday afternoon. They left Jersey on Monday morning and passed Hurst Castle 4 hrs later.

Skydiving with a Delta Rib, whatever next!

When that boat was first built it was considered huge by the standards of that time. How times change. Here is a picture of Contender with a young HMS at the bow.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend....

#1 - This was the general view from where I was.
#2 - Fast Forward on Saturday mid channel.
#3 - As I had radar the other two boats were trying to stay in visual sight of me. Not alwats possible.
#4 - Jellignite parked up in St Vaast
