Solent - Sat 22nd or Sun 23rd - anyone out?

The weather's looking good this weekend (as long as it's not foggy) - anyone planning to be out and about in the Solent?
Maybe a calmer Nacho run to Yarmouth?

OK - new plan - Saturday 22nd - Launching SDS about 11am for a run to Yarmouth. Meeting a Targa (Joker) off Calshot about 11.30.
Should get to Yarmouth about midday.
Anyone else wanting to meet up - we'll be on VHF72.

We've already done our month's fuel allowance, but I reckon I could find 30 quid to ensure we can get to Yarmouth and back. (Just don't tell Sarah)

As always 2 real choices... Turn left, or turn right.
3rd choice - going straight on from Southampton Water gives a fairly short trip

Only jealous as the boat's 100 miles away from the sea at present on the drive

The Solent is a 3/4 hr drive for me, will be closer to home if I head out Sunday.

Won't be able to make tomorrow as we're driving to Bristol to meet some Dobermann puppies with a view to buy. Unfortunately we lost our dear little JR called Eddie earlier this week - 16 1/2 yrs old. Have always had JRs and German Shepherds over the last 40+ yrs and we have decided on a change - crossover between terriers and big black and brown German dogs.

Hope you all have a great day out guys. Catch up soon.

Sorry to hear about Eddie, hope the viewing goes well. Look forward to meeting new puppy on the water 🤞🏼

Hopefully should be out Sunday if it’s not to cold for the girls 🥶

Sorry to hear about Eddie, Steve. Good luck with the puppy viewing....remember they are different when they grow up....we didn't fully appreciate how large & strong our Airedale - Flora would get

Ahh yes I see what you mean!

There is but it’s not what I use, usually launch at either at the club at Holland Haven across the beach or the Town Hard at Brightlingsea.

Sad times, but a good age for a Jack. Did Eddie have Sea Legs?

Taken out Patterdale’s out a few times, our bitch (tan) loves the water. Sometimes a little to much and is rather eager to jump in.

I've certainly used the slipway at Titchmarsh many times with Sea Cadets to launch/recover various RIB's, when we used to have a training centre there. Relatively narrow at the top, and you need to be on at least half tide, but I've used it for RIB's up to 7m quite happily.
