Sorry had to spend some time at work actually working .....
Outline plan at present is Lymington Launch @ about 10.30 on Sat 7th (of the long easter weekend) .
The aim would not be to get round the Island , but simply get out , have some fun and get to Yarmouth for lunch and a beer and then seastate permitting head to the Needles to have taste of the conditions and allow some record of petrol use over the run. It will allow for sheltered ( calm/ flat) water in the lee of Hurst spit, maybe depending on tide rougher water through Hurst ( Matt H airborne time ...) and varying out to Needles and Alum bay etc.
Those that want to camp can I hope fairly easily in the forest , or simply drive down for a day or longer to suit .
I have a list of people who have expressed an interest and will PM probably tomorrow.
Ribnet name Boat Engine
Jessk9 Honwave 4m 25
matth Bombard 420 25
Bongy Bombard 380 25
PeterM Bombard 380 25
Lockieboie Prowave 3.8 10
Astra Zodiac 340 15
Guernseylee Quicksilver 3.4 10
Benc Honwave 3.2 8
Of course there wil be RIBS about and all are welcome
Anyone got any major problems or suggestions let me know and all start praying for ace weather.
Pete
PS- maybe the admin gods can sticky this as the start of a new thread 'Solent SIBfest 7 April 2012' , and unsticky the others to save 59 page threads ? At your discretion ........

I'm guessing the slipway in the harbour. Not launched there myself yet so hopefully someone will help out with that.
With regard to fuel I suppose it depends on the conditions and how far everyone wants to go exploring. Be safe and bring plenty!

I'm not very experienced with sibbing in cold water/weather as we have only used the boat on the med and uk rivers. What do you all wear? Do you try and keep dry or go with wet suits?

A quick chat with the harbour master when we get there & he will point us where he wants . To be fair all of us together will only take up the same as an 10m Rib !
May get away with the tender area too!

Hi, I really like Hollands Wood and I am thinking about booking for that weekend but I'm not 100% sure at the moment.
A few things though, they have been taken over this year, you have to book for thee days and its about £78 without a boat/trailer
But a great site though and handy for Lymington too

Sorry I forgot the kids - make that £111.40 for the three nights and it doesn't say anything about trailers and boats....

Not that I'm a tite ass but I'm going for 5 days so think that's going to be a bit expensive, is that price for a tent or camper van?
