Skerries - when are we all going?

here you go tony, a new thread. seems to be a lot of interest in the skerries lighthouse, and a lot of people who have never been. i, like 1978searider am a regular there, and 'know the way in', but have never had a good mooch about - ive landed there once but that was only to pass water! for a while now my aim has been to tie up and spend some proper time there, and then back in march a friend of mine started talking about camping there - a bit extreme i thought but sounds like fun. lets wait and see what trinity house have to say then see who may be up for it!

Oooh that does sound like a plan. What's your departure/arrival and places/times that day Cookee?

Where can we follow you/keep updated?

I am on the Straits 1 - 10 June, so could do the 2 June. I still have heard nothing back from the PR Manager at Trinity House, but I assume we are only talking a day trip, rather than a "sleep over"?

From Menai Bridge is the quickest way up to the Skerries up the East coast?

6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Only a few mile in it at a guess. I'd head SW, it's a nicer trip, that's the way I'm going.

I have been reading on the RSPB site that the Skerries is an "area of special scientific interest", and that between May and August wardens from the RSPB stay on the skerries to monitor the breeding. I fear wardens looking at birds may thwart our camping plans.
