If you've got a lat/long you can PM me for that Pete I'll programme it into my plotter so we can give you a wide berth before anyone gets close enough to see an A flag

I'm still keen, launching at eastney in the 5.4 I'll be breaking in a new battery so hopefully should be problem free, also hope to be sporting an 18" stainless prop

Cool

Bring a spare prop with you though-you might have trouble turning an 18" with a 60. I didn't get on with a 17" on an 85.

Ian Mcconnell,Sr5.4,launching Hamble

GraemeCooper+Sian,Sr4,launching prob Camber?

Ollyit-Sr5.4 Launching Eastney

PeterR,Sr5.4, launching ?

(poss)Nasher+crew,Nasher's Revenge, launching Camber

We usually use ch77 to contact each other.

The weather forecast is looking good at the moment but I am using Metcheck so it probably won't bear any resemblance to what we actually get. However, the windspeed and direction looks quite favourable so far for Saturday.

IF it's a nice calm day and Ventnor is looking like a really nice run, would the 4m skippers be more interested in coming that far if we could sort a bit of extra fuel capacity for them?

Took the SR4 for a shakedown cruise today in Cardiff Bay. Had some fun launching and recovering, and a few problems starting the engine - much prefer electric start !!!

Not sure if Ventnor would be on for our first trip - any idea what the distance is and time at average speeds etc. If it is millpond we may go for it - anything else may be twice round the harbour !!!!

Absolutely - we will be going down no matter what - and then will decide where we feel up to going on the day according to conditions. I do have a second 22 litre tank I could take - but still have no real idea how far that gives us in range.

I'd bring the 2nd tank anyway.I used to use a 25 litre tank doing Warsash-Lightship-Folly-Warsash when thrashing it.

2 tanks should get you to Ventnor and back from the Lightship with a comfortable margin as we won't be thrashing it anyway.

Meet up at the Lightship around 10.30 then (weather depending) run round to Ventnor for lunch or the Folly if it's too rough for all of us to go round the back of the island.
Weather forecasts so far are looking pretty good and haven't changed either so assume we're going to Ventnor when you fuel up.

Please be aware there may be a boat with divers down en-route to Ventnor. Give anything flying the A flag a VERY wide berth.

Everyone's welcome but it'd be nice to get as many Seariders in one place as possible.

We usually use ch77 to contact each other.

For those who aren't local,,
The lightship is here
Ventnor is here

The Folly is here.

Bad news, took the boat out Saturday, lovely day, however one of my mounting springs literally ripped off. I phoned the mechanic and after alot of searching he's had to order it in from Belgium

So Saturday looks like a no no for me. Totally bummed, would have been my first cruise

Sorry, hope you have a good one anyway!

Come out with someone else. There will be plenty of boats to choose from, I have space if you want to travel to Fareham/Gosport or someone a bit closer to you?

PS.

What's a mounting spring for?
