Scottish sib & rib outing 2022

Hi folks I will be doing two outings next year so if people can’t make the first trip then hopefully can make the second.

Trip 1
Largs to sound of Bute
April Saturday 2nd -Sunday 3rd return
10:00 leaving Largs marina the car park is no longer available to stay overnight so the marina is the only option the cost to use the services in and out is £30 this lets you use all the facility’s ie toilets showers when you return on Sunday.
The distance is approximately 80 nautical miles please make sure your boat and equipment is in full working order and that you are responsible for your own safety.
Any boat not up to standard will not be allowed to join due to safety

Trip 2
Largs to loch fyne
September 3rd - 4th
This is a 10:00 start again at the marina cost are the same as above this trip is approximately 110 nautical miles fuel can be purchased at Portavadie £154 at the moment

Hope to see you all there and stay safe for now HH

Hi HH, April is in the diary.
I'm in Oban in Sept so I'll have to give that one a miss.

Unfortunately you have to book individual issue being car registration number and when booked as a group people may not turn up due to last minute notice and then we’re out of pocket sorry for inconvenience HH

Hi guys just to let you know the fee’s for
Largs yacht haven
Irvine road
KA30 8EZ
01475 675333
Have now gone up to £15 each way to launch and recover your boat this also allows you to use the washing facility’s there I have been informed that you can still use the public slipway but must park your car in the opposite car park where we used to park for free please can I have the rough idea how many are hoping to come along thanks HH

Both the public car parks & public slipway are still free & accessible to all users. Only change is there is a height restricted barrier to the south of the ramp access to prevent folk parking motor homes along the sea front. Cars & pickups can still drive under and park where they want to for free. The whole camping objection thing has died down now covid has settled & you see the odd tent pitched at the rear car park. The locals seem to have put away their torches & pitchforks for now. Marina will perpetuate the 'no camping rule' as they now offer motorhome camping spaces.

Hi beam yeah I had a run over to Largs today and the signs still say no overnight parking on the slip way side but ok on the bottom car park this was also confirmed by yacht haven as well don’t won’t to get anyone issued with a ticket that’s why I double checked

The barrier & probably signs was erected by the marina probably to drive motorhome traffic to their own paid motorhome parking. None of the car parks are policed from a parking point of view, the no over night parking signs are intended to deter motor homes as like I said the locals were out with their torches & pitchforks during the pandemic. The whole furore has died down now

Hi HH, confirm Friday, Sat & Sun if people are stopping over Sunday night.
I'll probably get to Largs around 2.00 on the Friday.
