Round IOW-Sat 24th March 2012....Roll call
Hi, Just another quick update from me, I have been following the weather forecast using xcweather and the forecast is looking a lot better for next weekend, but it's the few days before that are important too.
XCWeather - Forecast for Ventnor
Trev has kindly offered to look at the the best time to leave and where to meet up and stop for lunch taking into account wind and tides etc.
We will be launching from:
Crosshouse Hard Southampton[slipway] - Boatlaunch
Times and meeting places to follow

Mrs A can't make the Saturday but it sounds good to me. Having had lunch in Yarmouth today (nachos as good as ever!), my preference would be to lunch in Ventnor where HT is 11.56. By pausing there for an hour, we'll have a slightly stonger current (up to 0.5kt) behind us up to the Needles. I'm easy either way, however, with my only constraint being having to be back in Poole by 4.00pm to get back into the marina.

I'll be coming from Poole if you want to do the full trip from there: we're planning on launching from Parkstone Bay Marina around 9.15 (probably 9.45 after faffing!).
Can also RV with Burtox (out of Christchurch?) around 10am (depending on faffing!)
Anyone else coming from Poole/west of the Island?
David

David,
I'm probably going to have to pass on this one. Shame but other greater forces are at work!
Have a great trip, I may come down for a brief blast as I have had my prop re furnished and I'm very keen to give it a blast. Apparently it was in a pretty bad state having been reworked with a grinder by someone who shouldn't have and the balance was way out. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the offer but I believe that we may go from Southampton slipway for a change.

Anyone got a spare seat from Southampton?
Phil (my brother) has got a day pass for Saturday - but it will be a bit crowded on the Searider with 3 all the way round the Island, so... anyone going alone that might be happy to take a passenger?
(he does have his own waders so can be useful when launching and recovering!)

I'll be coming out of Christchurch at about 10am, depending on that dreaded faffing.
