And if anyones a bit nervous about launching into a busy river...Chas Newens marine located at the Putney slipway will launch you with their landrover into the river for a few quid and a smile.

Warning

Chaps

Keep a close eye open for floatsome and crap floating in the river especially down stream of tower bridge, last time the sub 5 gang were up there we saw a fridge, 3 pallets and lots of other junk including a beer barrel floating down the river, drive over one of those at 30 knots and your'll know all about it

Pic of beer barrel attached (sadly it was empty )

People,
You obviously get a much better class of floatsam on the Thames!
Fridges, tv's, beer! Still waiting to find a Garmin colour plotter though!
Looking forward to the weekend now. I'm trying to sort out moorings at Canary Wharf but its difficult getting in touch with the right people. Will keep you updated.
Are people happy to eat at a Jamies Bar? Its nice pub food but can be a bit expensive if you go crazy.
Do any of the Sub Five Meter boys wanna join us?

Chris.

Hi Chris

Firstly, thanks for organising the trip. We are all busting to go but my 12 year old son has been off school with a nasty cough so i think we will have to postpone..

The thames is at the top of my list at the moment, and I know that I would prefer to do it in company. Perhaps you can 'offer your services' again soon?

Have a great day out anyway.

Doug and family

Nice piccies - looks like you had a good day. But did someone pick up a plastic bag on their prop? And is the last one the War Memorial Steps on Victoria embankment?

It was a 1 ton builders bag and needed to be cut off with a knife.

I was lucky, and in fact have never fouled the prop on the Thames..touch wood
