River Clyde RIB'n

Morning all,

Anyone in the Clyde area fancy getting some meets and trips sorted out.

Just a thought as I have seen so many RIBs out on the clyde over the months, and also that there is a fair number of RIBs in the Kip Marina the now(Where I and 2 others have thiers)

We had a great weekend last weekend over at Loch Striven with 3 RIBs and a Bayliner.

Anyways just a thought as I said.

Dave

dont know why the folder still says 'mates motors' anyway thers a few from loch striven outing on that link.

Gaz give me a call tomorrow and get me that usb key and i'll get u all the pics.

Aye Andy it was eventful, good day out without too many events so to speak then one of the lads in the Bayliner decided to ram my RIB just off Rothesay as I was swapping fuel tanks,he managed to hit my backside then destroy my A Frame and luckily not puncture any of the tubes or kill me and my passenger, then to top it all off as I headed to the Marina the Bayliner ran out of fuel, so I had to go back and tow that in from just off Weymss Bay not o funny at the time but eventful to say the least, but we can learn from that day. well the Bayliner owner should I say cheers for the new A Frame Tony if your reading this

Hi Gary,
The Power Trim/Tilt on the Port side tried to throw in the towel, after finding out a new one is about £800 I thought that there cant be that much to them so stripped it down, there really isn't just a motor, wee pump and header. The brushes on the motor are about done so I gave them a wee clean up and whey hey it works.
I managed to rob a couple of brushes that look similar from an old starter motor so next time it happens I will just try and replace them....I'm sure after a wee file and grind they will fit
Andy.

Was sailing up there last weekend. Amazing place - never been before. We stayed on the boat off Sander Island ( south of Kintyre) and I can recommend the pub there, it is right by the water - desserts to die for.
Wish I had the rib with me though rather than sails....

Have a good trip

Alright all,

Yeh quiet fancy Loch Long, or Loch Goil I take it you mean for the camping weekend??was looking at the 2 of them on the map the other day.

It is the Cowal Games weekend this weekend so that would be a good day out on saturday to have a pint in amongst the hustle and bustle and give a to those suffering the Cal Mac and Western ferrys.

Spoke to Tony today, the dude at RMS has the pipe all in shape and has the brackets and top plate made so as far as I know he's welding it all tomorrow and tony is in Kilwinning tomorrow and will phone them at 12 to see if its ready, heres hoping, doesnt feel right not having the A Frame.

Well as far as charging Tony for more stuff , from what I have read I could have claimed salvage for having to tow his boat not even to mention the slight alterfication

Anyways lets make a day out to the Cowal Games and have general Hoo Ha on the Clyde

Dave
