RIB cruise in Iceland - July 2008 or 2009

Number of Icelandic RIB owners are considering establishing RIB club which will introduce the RIB culture to fellow Icelanders as well as to set up cruises in different places around Iceland for fellow RIB owners to explore our nature and country as well as to have fun.

Organising two week trip around Iceland for fellow RIB owners abroad where they can either bring in their own RIB or crew in one of our boats.

Example there are ferry going every other Tuesday from Scrapsters to Iceland via Faroe Island during the summer or by freighters from Immingham (Humber area) and then fly across (Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Manchester and Glasgow).

Would anybody on here be interested in participating in such cruise in July 2008 or July 2009 (for your info during that time we have 24 hours of daylight).

If you like to receive more information or to put you on mailing list please send your details to: ingo@seasafari.is or bogi@sjosport.is

How much would it cost to ship a rib to Iceland from Immingham and as Iceland is not in the EC I suppose one would need an ATA Carnet for customs purposes

We have spoken to the three frieght companies sailing from the Immingam and we are waiting for their offers.

Best would to have ATA Garnet, however the customs have given their opinions that temporary use of boat can be applied up to four months pr. annum.

This morning we established RIBbaldar rubber boat association which one of its function will be organising cruises in Iceland even in Greenland and Faroe Island.
