That is a good idea but not one I can really do up here in Swindon.

Were you thinking of distributing the around chandlers?

I'll be contacting the Press and Radio though.

After much kindness from KB boat park, Exhilaration boat rides will be running 30 minute, rides from the boat park on the launch day 9th March, 25% of all takings on the day will be donated to Macmillan, So For £20 you can enjoy the Solent aboard a 10m 600hp Rib and raise some valuable cash for a fantastic cause, any question please call me on 07533007035, hope to see you all there, (weather permitting of coarse) kind regards to all Mark

Yep awesome of all of you

As I understand it the rib rides will be from the "Millennium Pontoon" situated next to the slip way. The council will make a charge for each person loaded/unloaded of £1.50, but Dry Run is going to cover this to maximise the charity donations.

Mmmmm 600hp

If this rib was a horse... It would be a stallion

Ok, so what are we doing on the 9th March?

We will have the RIB 4 Macmillan - finished for you to see and believe me it's worth coming along to see the tube fabric alone

The RIB 4 Macmillan build team will be there to talk to you and answer any questions on anything Rib related, Christopher from Henshaws will be there too

There is a free Pig Roast that has been donated by PeterM, IanM, Neil Harvey and Jumpin Jack, but please put what ever you think in our RIB 4 Macmillan donation bucket

There will be 6m x 6m marquee with our old parts in that you can see and buy if you want them? or if you have anything that you want to donate just bring it along and we'll sell it for you on the day or later on the forum/ebay. 100% of any money collected will go to Macmillan Cancer Support

Skippermarky will be running rib rides with 25% of the takings going to Macmillan Cancer Support so you don't even have to bring your Rib to see the Solent Thats right you can have a 30min 600hp rib ride for just £20 with £5 of this going to Macmillan

The RIB 4 Macmillan Launch will be at 2pm, where you get to see grown men cry

The England V Wales Rugby is on from 3pm in the pub on the big screen

So let us know if you're coming

Alex

If the weather stays like that I'll be coming by boat from Poole. Anyone else coming from Poole want to join me either in their boat or as crew on Grimalkin? (I'll be on my own since Mrs A is unfortunately exhibiting cakes at a cake fair)

David

Marquee's up so Lisa from Macmillan will be set up in there if anyone needs anything or info etc

Crew2's sorted some name tags if anyone wants one so you know who you're talking to.

Weather's sorted

Press is sorted

Writing PBR story at the moment, I will need your support

Macmillan Cancer support has wished us well

A lady cried on me yesterday when I told her what we had done and the 'Out of Nothing' concept

So much work has gone into to this behind the scenes so I hope you all enjoy a nice relaxing lunch in the sun with great company.

Map attached of where we are and where the RIB Rides are running from...

Dry Run can fit about 20 - 25 ribs in rafted up, moorings are near the RIB 4 Macmillan sign on the map below...

And dont't forget the following information copied from KB's website...

QHM Portsmouth are still rigorously enforcing the regulations for boats entering and leaving Portsmouth Harbour. On slipping from the pontoons and again when in the vicinity of the Camber entrance you are required to call up QHM on Channel 11 and request to cross from Camber Docks to Ballast Pile and upon return request to cross from Ballast Pile to Camber Docks. Boats entering and leaving the Harbour should use the small boat channel on the Gosport side.

See you Sunday

Nice one, will see you all there, have posted a few tweets and FB updates to try to help.

Yes remember the access into Portsmouth Harbour is well controlled and you must use small boat channel in AND out and MUST seek permission to cross from Ballast Pole to Camber docks and return. This is a busy port with many passenger ferries and strong tidal flows at the harbour entrance

Should be a great day.
