I am informed that the weather is looking OK at this time but might change for the winter run to Rathlin. Final Call Friday 15.00 Hrs. All RIBs welcome & I have 4 spare seats for RIB.NETers to park them bums on.

Well what can I say a great wee trip out to Rathlin!!!
Boats:
1 - 6.5 mtr 165hp IB yam diesel
1 - 7.4 mtr 250 OB
1 - 8.4 mtr 2 x 150 OB
1 - 8.5 mtr Excalibur 250 OB
1 - 9.5 mtr 300 OB
2 - 11 mtr 2 x 4.2 yam diesel
& 1 - Atlantic 85 RNLI Lifeboat

We all set of at 1pm. I had 7 crew, JJ my nephew the youngest at 8 years old. Redbay life boat joined us doing a training exercise for the Redbay Lifeboat crew. We had a nice run up the Coast running with the tide at 32kn, some nice lumpy seas. We pealed of at Fairhead and headed into Ballycastle to drop Tom McLaughlin off to pickup Corryvreckan. Then the short journey over to Rathlin for soup & a sandwich. On leaving Rathlin the wind was starting to pickup and made for a fun run back over to Fairhead then back in the shelter of the land as the wind was blowing out the South/west. We then stopped off at Torr Head for some pictures but the boats were drifting at 6kn! Finally all boats back safely at Redbay then onto their trailers & then time of a few pints of the black stuff in the boat club.
