I think that rather than try to find you lot on the island on Sunday we're going to take it easy and bimble down to East Head in Chichester harbour for a picnic. It's another lovely beach if anyone wants to make it a "2 beach picnic" weekend
If you do come on over I'll be happy to provide a water taxi service in the SIB.
Have fun tomorrow!

I can confirm that I'll be missing another Priory Bay Picnic and that no tickets for the British GP have turned up on my doorstep this year either
I had been planning to go but an infection in my eye means I can't risk getting any sand blown in it. Looks like I'll be an armchair sportsman on Sunday.
Have a great weekend!

After realising quite how hot it'll be with the boat on the trailer at Calshot (grey tubes, suntrap and so on), myself and Neil are aiming to be off Calshot around 11ish as there's nowhere really to tie up. It may be easier to run over to Warsash and meet up there at 12ish

Great to see everyone . A great day all round !
We left Christchurch in gloomy fog and mist with a few hundred yards viz. As we followed the coast to the east it improved until we stopped in Portsmouth in sunshine. ( Saw Tim M in the harbour but too far away to say hello).
Made out way to the Bay dropped off the stuff and out the boat in a few feet of water. Saw Neil/Matt & Nos arrive so Matt stuck his new/old boat off mine while Nos & Neil dried out (the boats- not them....that'll be tomorrow... ) .
Left about 6.40 ish with Matt and we cruised up a calm solent to be back on the mooring a hour later.
Same next year maybe ?

Great day and evening. Got to bed, only to hear Nos calling 5 mins later cos the yacht anchored next to us had slipped it's front "anchor" point (bow line round half buried log, now submerged!)
Got up and we borrowed Marks sib, retrieved anchor line, and held ashore until they returned. Long story, but the ended up turning yacht stern to beach to use what was the stern anchor as bow anchor.
Deciding that was too dangerous, we paddled out and told them how steeply the beach shelved there, and that they'd probably experience a listing and crashing feeling during the night. They have just started their engines and are moving elsewhere, presumably to anchor in priory bay.
What an end to the day. Looking forward to some sleep without the worry of them next door!

You must have been concentrating on typing that when the revving engine and shouts of' Oi mate are you stuck' started as they ran aground at high tide
Great weekend, will upload some pics and vids when I wake up properly

What a great weekend.
Some pickies...from left to right
Afternoon Tea on Priory Bay
Very busy in the afternoon
It's much prettier as evening approaches.
I'm sure that that yacht wasn't parked there when we left the boats last night !
