Penzance to Bryher

Planning on heading over on Friday 28th May for the w/e to Bryher. Heading over on Friday late afternoon so have high tide showing as 1800 at St Mary's.

Planning on mooring between Tresco and Bryher.

Any pointers on best routes would be appreciated. I was thinking of heading straight for the "Hats" Cardinal North of St Mary's then heading for Crow Bar and follow the channel up the N.E. side of Tresco?

Not the route shown, I know I guy who reduced his wife to a blubbering wreck on the cabin floor by taking the Western approach into Bryher sound. Prevailing Westerly sea and all that. Your route shows the wrong way around Tresco.

Shoot straight into St.Mary's sound keeping St.Martins on your stbd side. Pass Hugh Town Harbour and bear off right in Bryher sound. Avoid low water and follow the Island boats to navigate the channels.

Don't worry about the shallow water - it's so clear, you can see the rocks in the 0.7m depth
I took the safe option & followed the old hands who'd been there before
