Pembrokeshire August 3rd-10th

Any Ribnet Members up for some Cruising around Pembrokeshire the first week in August ?

Dates and Venues to be confirmed but Jason Webb and I intend to bring La Bamba ( 5.85 M Ribcraft ) to W.Wales for a gentle weeks cruising , emphasis on Scenery & Wildlife ( as opposed to blasting about regardless of weather conditions ). Probably berth at Neyland Marina for the week but willing to listen to other suggestions and certainly grateful for any advice or local knowledge. Look forward to hearing from you.............

I have plenty of hols to book this year at work at the mo, so should be able to get a good few days off while you're down to do some local cruising with you.

Provided the weather is in our favour, trips out round Skomer, out to Grassholm, and up the coast can definately be in order. Going down to Tenby is only really going to be great when the range is closed on the weekend or we have to go a long way from land to be out of the exclusion zone, which means you won't be seeing much wildlife apart from that unusual bird, the seagul

There are good high tides that week you're down - low tide plonk right in the middle of the day tho, which will rule out going right up river to explore the out of the way places unfortunately.

So far this year, I have ventured out to Skomer, and then past, round the coast to Broad Haven. Both on pretty good days, and were thoroughly enjoyable with lots of wildlife around, and cracking scenery.

When you know for definate dates etc... let me know and I will book some leave.

Thanks,

-Alex

Any chance of you all cruising upto Pwllheli on the Sunday?
A group of us are out and about in north Cardigan Bay. The main cruise is on the Saturday, with a shorter day out and about Sunday.
It may be a bit of a treck, but B&B/camping is available.

Jono , with the boat based in Neyland and our Caravan in Pembroke , even a meet as far south as Newquay , would probably mean trailing the boat overland to get there. ( This is our first visit to W.Wales and we still have to learn our way around ). So it may not be possible this time around . We know that Newquay is a good spot for dolphin watching so we don't rule it out completely.

Missed this year, but did see the boat in the Marina.
If you return to pembrokeshire next year, let me know and i am sure some local trips can be arranged, may be Ireland if the weather is up to it.

Hope pembrokeshire was upto your expectations, shame about the fog that week.
