I spotted my chance and bought from a lady owner who looked after it well. A 2007 build with the history to go with it. Engine was checked out with no faults and 350 hours on the clock. Clamchowder was also admiring it and I think was disappointed that I got there before him.

I have seen those hire ribs which I think were Excels with A frames attached. Reminded me of my first sib that we had SD330 with a 5hp - never thought I'd end up with one of those fancy ribs I saw flying round Salcombe at the time.

Did have a great day yesterday coastearing off Praa Sands. The chap called Matt who took us out did a really good job with some good jumps well over 5m. Took the Gopro which has produced some good shots but will have to wait until we get back home to download. A great time highly recommended.

Yep great boats. And with that lump goes well with manageable fuel consumption

Moelfre Lifeboat Day

Lurvly. Great size for taking 4 out on seats, ie big enough for 2 abreast, yet easily trailered/manhandled, quick enough but economical.

Thanks for that I found the original threads back in 2007 posted by a chap called Steve under his forum name 'Just Looking'

Oh dear. Hope you didn't find that he was asking too many questions back then about how best to repair a badly cracked transom or whether shedloads of water mixed with oil in the lower leg was any cause for concern!

On the contrary the threads show when he bought it, why he called it Just Looking, how he ran the engine in, a couple of trips and finally the reason for selling after a year plus what he did in that year. The only negative was a bearing failure on his trailer after 3 months which happened to me on a on a new de graff trailer. That was an experience that I don't want to repeat. Just Looking was then put on brokerage with Ribcraft when Margot Hendrie bought it. I bought it off Margot in early June. So thanks to Ribnet I have a little more history.

Will you be running to Moelfre on the 16th? Would be good to meet up for a drink again.

Happy days indeed!

Unfortunately, I'll be in the North Sea, not the Irish Sea that weekend but look forward to seeing all the pics, particularly Nugent's water cannon in full flow, so to speak.

Have fun and look forward to catching up on the water again some other time before the end of the season.

don't you go mentioning the end of season, it's only August, typical of a retired rag n sticks man, the season ends when the ice blocks the slip at Ty Calch

....and begins again when the water subsides far enough to find the slip, I guess?

Anyway, at the risk of complete thread drift I hear congratulations are in order because Whackwoody's bid's been accepted by the Caernarfon Harbour Trustees.

He's prolonging his season and getting his go juice paid for by undertaking to lay the channel marker buoys across the bar in the autumn. Crackin' result for him when you think about it because if he hadn't hit the banks so many times (during the season) the channel would still be where it was when the Harbourmaster marked it back in the spring.

Oi Tony I only hit that sandbank once (although that is 1 too many). Anyway I have officially named it the Havaianas Sandbank as that's where I lost my flip flops when I had to bail it (doh). Can everybody keep an eye out for them please (LOL)
