Tonymac,
I'm contemplating taking th trip for the day, weather permitting, for the races. You recommend Ardglass, to where, Ramsey, Peel or kirk michael even(if theres boat access at kirk) ?

This is a first for me so keen to hook up with floatilla with regards to there and back (hopefully) birthing, etc and anything else that may cause the return with one less bike enthusiast.

Look forward to hearing of any plans

We are going to be running to Douglas due to only have access to most ports 2.5h either side of high water. I think Peel is ok, but its the wrong side for us.

We are running into Douglas as well, the main event seems to be there with the paddocks etc.
Possibly two RIB's going from Oban leaving Isle of Whithorn at the moment.

Brought our RIB down from Loch Fyne yesterday, taking advantage of the weather window

Average speed was 22 knots (9 hours), even with three stops (two for fuel, one for a cuppa). All ready for the Isle of Man on the 4th

So I hear, the rain and wind have to stop sometime..........
I haven't been abe to get the boat back together since its trip to Humber as it literally hasn't stopped raining for any longer than 30mins for the last three-four weeks.
I got the console stuff all done yesterday and today by buying one of these, don't be fooled by the dry ground, those grey clouds are just about to burst, again!

What you want to do is rig those legs to the tubes and bingo instant cabin rib.

Was in Largs today, could just about manage to stand up in the wind.

That an A frame on the boat now? You know it makes sense.

Hi Nick2908. Unfortunately I am unable to make the trip that's already in my diary! I'm really annoyed about it but can't do anything about it. The weather looks like it may pick up at last this weekend!
Last year we went out of Ardglass and went round the Calf of Man and up to Douglas. Willk said he knew where he was going so we all followed him! Not that we had much choice since it was so foggy we just about could see each other! Even at that I got lost once on the way home and just managed to find a wake to follow - thankfully it wasn't the Liverpool ferry!

On mature reflection, I'd probably do that a bit differently now, but only because I'm more at ease with sounding overly OCD and Dictatorial....

Weather ain't looking good at the moment, Met office predicting gusts of 4-5 for the area. General winds are relatively light but not sure what sea states will be like and how long gusty periods will be.........

it was always unlikely that we would go on this one as I would be coming back home from the big boat friday night and then getting on t'little boat first thing in the morning. However the big boat has just been requested for sat and sunday so it looks like I will be at sea burning (lotsof) someone else's fuel

We will be leaving Morecambe next Thurs pm to Ramsey, and returning Sat pm, weather permitting, I know its later than every one else, but work commitments etc, going in Mistral approx 6 people, it's the one on the right, new Transom by Ribcraft !!!

So is anyone else going? Just had a look at the various webcams and it looks flat calm at the moment although I am now going to chek the forecast.
All being well and the forecast being reasonable we will be leaving tomorrow afternoon with a view to heading over saturday morning about 9-10am.

And, how many others are coming?
Let us know now so we can meet you and transport you to wherever. Navigation round the island is problematic during TT week but Cypman and I know all the backroutes.
If you dont let us know, we cant help you !

Leaving Isle of whithorn 9-10am arriving Douglas at approx 11am. weather will make the final decision tomorrow but it is saturday we intend to head across.
Not sure who is coming but it seems we are the whole scottish contingent on our own again.......:d

Bruce,if the wind is in the north and you dont do the IoM run but do a run along the coast towards kirkudbright etc, which will be sheltered, then we should be out in the cat on the solway. Our guys are only scheduled for maintainance jobs I think, so you are welcome to come aboard for a brew and facilities stop if we are not otherwise employed at the time. Hopefully you will get to the IoM though.
Phone or text before approach and I'll let you know how we are fixed at the time. pm sent with number.
