I was 1000m away just outside the exclusion zone. I used a Canon 10D with a 100-400 zoom. The lense has a stabalizer built in but as I was in a bobbing boat I set the shutter speed quite quick. Set the film to 400ISO. Locked down the zoom and manual focus so the camera had less work to do.

However luck played a major factor!!!

I also found shouting abuse at arseholes in boats gave me the addrenilin for the patient 2 hr wait. Most of the people out watching should not be allowed to own a boat. There was a very funny moment when the coastguard told all boats over the VHF to back off level with the Anglian Princess (Coastguard). We backed off and watched and to the credit of RIB users, most RIBs moved back. Leaving the rest of them sitting there ..... obviously not listening to their radios. Probably sipping wine and eating cakes. Sorry RANT over....

It was a great day!!!

I know what you mean, I watched a fishing boat drift right across in front of me and then it hit one of the coastguard ribs, I think they hadn't moved the rib because they couldn't belive it was going to happen.

Scylla Documentary on BBC SW and Sky

From http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/news_feat..._sinking.shtml

"You can watch the sinking of HMS Scylla in a special programme on BBC ONE in the South West.

The programme 'The Day They Scuttled Scylla' starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday 31st March.

Viewers with Sky Digital can watch the programme from anywhere in the UK on channel number 957."

Hopefully there will be pictures of the "fleet"heading back to Plymouth after the sinking, which must have looked spectacular from the air (and gently nerve wracking from the water).

Apparently the Artificial Reef Consortium already started planning their next project. The inconsiderate w*nker in yacht Grifter gets my vote.....

Also a second vote of thanks to those who recommended the Mayflower Marina.

RIBase
I read the same as you on that link.
However, I am confused again. Not an unusual occurance these days..........
1. My TV Guide (local paper and SKY Guide) says that at 7.30 today, Fiona Bruce is on about obesity.
2. My SKY hasnt even got a channel 957

Have I gone mad? (madder?)

I phoned BBC SW yesterday who agreed it was on.

It is on Sky DIGITAL 957.

One link I saw yesterday suggested channel may have to be added manually. I certainly have NOT done that, must have come through automatically. Is yours plugged into phone line?

There may be a "find new channels" option in the setup menu, but I am out of my depth here and guessing.

Good luck.

Sky

If you go to the end of the entertainment section of the TV guide, there is a long list of regional bbc channels

it was pretty spectacular, wasn't it , had one of my customers (a doctor) on board and he went a few differant colors on the trip back to QAB marina.
