Here's a linky to your sinking fishing boat:

SEVEN RESCUED AFTER FISHING BOAT SINKS - Island Echo - 24hr news, 7 days a week across the Isle of Wight

I guess the RNLI boys don't hang about when they know its a genuine Mayday rather than another WAFI stuck on a Sandbank...

RIBase
The wind did pick up fast. I got to Yarmouth at a comfy 35-40 kt speed, then by the time we had a coffee & cake in the cafe it was quite a different trip back.

Random chop with a spray all at 15-20 kts. At least the rollers we going my way. I watched some poor sailing boats having a very uncomfortable day going West - all at considerably less speed than me.

Kiss the cliffs all the way once you clear the Needles and you will be ok. Save Portland for another trip. Head into Weymouth Marina. Good for nightlife, B&B,s and petrol across the Road. On a reasonable day a couple of hours should do it. Alan P
