Thanks Tony (and everyone else) for a great weekend - well worth travelling up for!
"Proper" video to follow of the cruises - but this quickie of the landing at the Garvellachs will definitely be one I remember!

Did not get away on friday - set off on saturday. Sea smooth and ebb tide with me all the way to Easdale. Stopped off at Craighouse for a bite and pint. Willk and Dan had a rougher trip on friday.
Short vid of "the beast" - please make allowance for the shake as i was flat out at 35kn. with phone pressed to window and one hand on wheel, trying to get near them!
Greaat time at meet- nice meeting the guys, and big thanks for all the help and kindness from the folks in Easdale.
Returned on sunday with "the beast", again sea was smooth. Went via 'Corry' one hour before LW. so all quiet there, then down the back of Jura to Port Askaig for lunch (thank you Willk). Back to Red Bay.
Had a turn on "the beast" and yes it does remove air from your lungs

After reading the forum for well over a year, I have never felt the need to reply, mainly as this would expose my ignorance. However, after the weekend I think a few thank-yous are in order. Best wishes to Tony and all the employees/volunteers/helpers on and around the island. Many thanks to the pubs for keeping me almost half-cut for the duration of the weekend and maintaining my clinical BMI just above morbidly obese.

After a rather shaky start to the weekend where I managed to break an oar on the tender and then drive headlong into Force 6/7 wind/waves the weekend progressed on an upward curve culminating in two accidental free curries from my favourite Tandoori on my return to Killie (it seemed like a positive thing at the time). This was in no small part to the amazing opportunity afforded to us by Richard and Danny. Fantastic trip lads- many thanks.

Being a passenger for a change allowed me the opportunity to absorb all the beauty of the surrounding landscape and to enjoy a rather exciting game of chicken between Bruce and a Caledonian MacBrayne!

On my return I questioned the wife about the purchase of a rather low-key boat from across the water. Even allowing for Richard's discount which practically made it a bargain she remained unconvinced and suggested there was only one way to raise the finance. So check out my new website www.sellyourinternalorgansonthecheap.com.

Anyway, I'm away to get Jambo off cloud 9 and return him to his cryogenic isolation chamber until next year.
