Deauville Cruise

Having joined BIBOA recently and missing out on St Vaast due to being put off due to the weather i reckon this would be a great first trip for me and my crew. Count me in, there will be 3 or 4 of us in a 585 Ribtech ' Calypso'.

Itinery For Deauville / Trouville

Morning Chaps

Here is the plan for the 3 Day cruise to Deauville / Trouville.

DEAUVILLE / TROUVILLE 2003

I would like to invite you to the 3rd Annual trip to Deauville taking in the delights of the medieval port of Honfleur. Around 30 members made the trip last year and a great time was had by all. This 3-day event is not to be missed.

Itinerary. Friday 18th July

· Leave Lymington at 8.00am
· Arrive Deauville around midday and take lunch in the marina
· Spend the afternoon checking out the shops and bars etc in this chic town which is frequented by the Paris jet set
· Meet up for dinner in the town of Trouville

Saturday 19th July

· After breakfast make our way to the town of Honfleur. This has to be one of the most beautiful places in northern France
· Return for evening meal

Sunday 19th July

· Leave for the return journey around midday arriving in the Solent late afternoon.

Useful Info

· Petrol is not available in the main marina but there is a nearby garage
· Deauville is on the starboard side on entry to the harbour and should be approached on bearing 148 T between the breakwaters, which are covered at high tide.
· Morning is available outside the marina if the lock is closed at the ‘Bassin Des Yachts’.
· Harbour master is on VHF CH 09
· IBIS Hotel 0033231145000

Closer to the time i will post a list of Weypoints that we will be using for this event so we all have the same routes planned in case we need to track back to find someone.

Looks good, Julian. I reckon Diana and I'll be coming via Torquay in convoy with Brian and Cyanide - after an early(ish) start.

Hi Mike

Sounds good to me, I'm going to send off a few of the smaller boats an hour before i leave so i can sweep the course to make sure everyone is ok etc, I will post some weypoints here in the next few days with a final meeting point about 15nm out of the harbour where we can all meet for the last run in.

Julian, you have convinced me. Can we join in 2 adult and 2 kids, I will probably accompany Brian and Mike although at 175 miles looks like a early start.

RIBase
I have no idea whether I brought you up-to-date on this Julian, or not (old-age doncha-know), but here goes.

Mike and Di Garside in Magellan Alpha, a 9m Ribtec, Yanmar 300.
Myself and Andy Cox in Cyanide a 9.5m Scorpion, Yanmar 300 and
Andy Micklewright, wife Pet and two children in Awesome, the awesome aluminium 8m rib with a 240 Yamaha engine will........

be going firstly on Thursday to Alderney, to refuel, whizz round the island on mini-mokes, eat drink and sleep, so that on Friday morning..........

we can make an early-ish start to arrive Deauville by lunchtime-ish.

On rooms, double for Mike and Di, two singles for Andy Cox and I (essential that!-have you actually met him? bad enough sharing a small boat with him, never mind a bedroom!), a double and a twin for Andy M.
Ta muchly. Hope that is alright.

PS We will probably repeat the CI "drop-in" on the way home. Splits the journey up nice.

Lee, A couple of things going on in Jersey over the next few weeks. The MBY cruise is in Jersey at the moment -St.Helier Marina- interesting even if they are not ribs. Mark Wildey and The Garsides will stop over enroute to Spain. Mike Dand Chris S will be over, I'll give you a call and introduce you to everyone. Come up to Alderney with me to meet the Deauville cruise as well.
