Good to see you all, nice turn out

Hope you all got back OK, that fog was thick, got within 50m of the Portsmouth - Ryde ferry before i could see her, heard her a way off though.

So much easer with GPS,until i stopped an thought about the traditional methods I had forgotten how easy we have it now.

Pea Soup initially and then a lovely day, took some shots earlyish this morning, Mostly flat calm and some fantastic rollers of bramble bank (i think thats what it is called)

Good pics Matt! A great day but the ice on the seat on departing the folly was a bit of a shock !

Not an ideal start for me to pop chamber in the tube before getting out of Poole Harbour though!

Many many thanks to Steve for trying to get hold of a clamseal in Cowes on a cold winter Sunday lunchtime, and especially to Mark for digging one out from the back of his boat - got me home very well with no probs at all (and no fog ! Will get the seal back to you ASAP )

Interesting weather - flat calm - and thick fog - (hope Steve is not still doing 4knts up Soton water.....at least it was in the redjet) Very attractive looking whisps of fog/haze & sunset heading back to Poole an easy 35knt cruise in good vis all the way to the West- with a 40+ blast up the harbour.

Thought the shingles bank had a big standing wave on the way back before we realised it was the bank itself sticking out a long long way from the water

. Didn't fancy getting to close and was getting cold by that point.

Have emailed RIB SHOP with a view to getting them out to do a mobile patch on the tube ASAP so fingers crossed ! ( or if anyone else has ideas of how to get it patched ASAP without getting the boat out please please let me know)

Better than i thought, its a very light boat but feels very planted. frugal on fuel,Jumps nicely and achieved 36 on stationary tide and 30 against tide and still very occasionally over-revving.
Mostly pulling 5950 -6000 rpm. running the 15 pitch. poss a 16 pitch, but currently it is a tad slow on the pick up:crazy. What next dd?? if i pitched up to a 16 ??

Twood be even slower off the mark with a 16". Where's the cav plate, relative to the u/side of the hull?

Yup - thanks Steve for organising the run - and Thanks to MarkB for shepherding us back up Southampton Water in very thick fog - our lack of GPS meant we would probably still now be going round in circles or stranded up Ashlett Creek without his guidance!
Here's a few pictures (before the Fog!).
Now - what date was the annual Nacho Run to Yarmouth going to be ..... ?

Peter M, thank you so much for a great day out. I met some great people and I enjoyed every second of the run to Cowes and back. Nester is a fantastic boat.

Great to meet everyone, we must do a barbecue in summer. Glad the weather held ok
though damn cold, still a soak in a hot bath followed by a roast warmed me up.

What a day! Very strange to go to the Folly without your own boat. Thanks to Pete & Mark for the lift from/to the Town Quay.

Great to meet up with old and new friends, very good company thank you. Appologies to the surprise caused by ships dog running through your legs under the table! Mark thought it was his lucky day ...

Our trip back to the mainland was painfully slow, we had to wait until 3.15 for the fastjet back, by which time the fog was well and truely down, the 23min journey took over an hour! Did at least to crash stops to avoid lost gin palace's that were lost in the Solent waters. All that money in a boat and no-one on board able to use it!!

We stopped for a cig and to see if you'd catch up, but you can't have been far behind us anyway. I'd only just come off the pontoon when you were going into your berth.

I had vis of 20-30 meters in thick fog. You seemed to have a nice ride back.

i'm afraid this has to be said, we always big up SDS and i have known Joe for a long time, but trying to charge Steve £225 to put his parker in is taking piss a little, i know some of them read the forum, i would like to know how they could justify that figure.
there's no malice in this post as they have never done me any wrong, if there is a good reason for that price i think they should have chance to respond, after all bad press get's around a lot quicker than good stuff and we've given them quite a lot of that
