Thats fine Sound fog signals reduce speed radar reflectors up note your position and trust you compass .

Group call to the cruise is call sign Floptilla then your boat name please use it if you want to slow down or stop for a rest or have an emergency.
Otherwise keep 72 clear .

I am happy to report that despite really grim fog (sub 100m vis) the RIB.net channel crossing Floptilla arrived safely in Braye this afternoon.

Expect some stunning photos soon!

I am really glad that the trip went without incident ( except the fog) and that all arrived safely. Looking forward to the photos. Wishing all a safe return.

Hope the 'floptilla' had a good crossing back. Our return to Jersey started out a bit lumpy, but got better the further south we were. A selection of photos attached. Full res images can be emailed if anyone wants.

Final set.
Loaded up with fuel and passengers from outisde Mainbrayce chandlers and evidence of the thick fog in Braye Harbour when we arrived.

Well done to Malthouse for encouraging the trip and organising the meal. I think I can still taste the pepper

The weather looks like a repeat of the crossing I had earlier this week, (Monday & Tuesday - see http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30635 ), in that it was flat calm going out.... and a little bumpy for the return.

I would be very interested in actual fuel consumption figures for various types of boat/engine for this trip if anyone would care to post. I will be re-filling my tank tomorrow so I will be happy to post mine too, once I know.

Anyone else interested?

Anyway, hope all goes well for the trip back.

Just got home to the family in Cowes in desperate need of a shower!

As our VHF aerial broke off, when we fell off the top of a particularly steep wave off Alderney, we could not send our thanks to Tim and all the other organisers and helpers when we parted company at the Needles. So, many thanks for all your organisation!

I hope you are all over your hangovers!!

Andy and I had a great time so same time next year then....

Ditto the above - Good fun with a good bunch of folk.

Optimax control registers total Journey - 218 miles - used 228 litres. Seems about right?
Northney Hayling to Alderney via Needles.

Definatley used more fuel going than coming back? Rapid happily glugged the extra 75 litres I took over with me but was full after 60 litres when I got back.

Martini for meeting us there (nice rib ) and runing people ashore .

Great experience nice to meet so many new faces and see some very nice ribs.

Looking forward to seeing some of the pictures Erins Mum emailed me some nice pictures of the group arriving pm me with your email address and I will forward them on.

My wife had a great time and sends her thanks to everyone for making her feel welcome .

Alderney really went out of there way to help us, the people and place is fantastic and well worth a visit .

Tim Thanks to you for the way in which the cruise was run
even in fog the coms and the reasueance of the up date on radar was great
Hats off to the Wet Bikes fog and all could not stop them
Great to meet every one
And i would like to say sorry for shooting off at the end but my son is flying to Bali and his Uni Mates where all waiting for him at home, i know ill take some stick for it but nothing i could do.
