Mainbrayce have lots of cans, funnels and syphons but if you do bring your own that will help the job along.

The Assistant Secretary (Bar) has been unable to find anyone to staff the bar.

It looks like we might have to meet in the Moorings pub.

It is unlikely that you will find a forecast that has no wind that does not mention poor vis. (Mind you the channel islands are famous for 30 knot fog too! )

We will be on hand on Saturday morning keeping an eye on the actual weather here as well as the various forecasts, Tim has our mobile number and I would ask his to pass that on to you all. As mentioned earlier we will also be on the radio to confirm conditions in Braye as you approach.

The current forecast for Saturday morning from Jersey Met is:

Forecast from 7 am Friday to 7 am Saturday
Wind: W'ly F3 to 4 decreasing F2 or 3 during the morning, becoming locally variable with sea breezes in the afternoon.
Forecast: Cloudy and misty at first becoming fair by afternoon. Risk of sea fog patches.
Visibility: Moderate to poor becoming mainly moderate to good.
Sea State: Slight.

I would also reiterate that Windfinder has proved pretty accurate locally and is the forecast of choice for the Harbour Master:

www.alderneymarine.com/weather.html

There is also a link on our site to the commercial quay web cams which have current wind speed shown.

If any would like Malthouse Marines mobile number please get in touch .
Still ok to go weather wise but keep checking for peace of mind .
Hoping only early morning fog or mist if any please make sure you carry a radar reflector and fog horn .

Some good plans submitted though not all have done one, this is your trip your plan it should make you feel more confident on passage planning we are going together as a group and will look out for each other.
A cruising speed of 25knots will keep your fuel bill down and allow the jetski gang to arrive with some reserve in the tank . I notice that some use route planning software that is pretty cool please let others know what you use .
Weather update tonight and then Friday there is no pressure on anyone to come.

Tim

Boat is kept at home & needs Wheel Clamp, Hitch lock and to be chained to something solid (not sure where you keep yours). Normal price £265.94, I get a discount as a member of Biboa of 10% so Net cost £241.56. May be worth a try.

I am 11 in my posse Martin if they all choose to eat in the same place 7 have confirmed and I guess we can always order off the menu if we dont want the meal deal.

Will all those bringing cans make sure your name or boat name is written on them as Mainbrace will sort out the refueling and we can drop them off and pick up later any one needing OPTI Oil or Etec Oil shout Mainbrace .

Diesel boats can fill up before departure on Sunday .
Cheers
Tim

Latest update - two committee members have offered to step in and run the bar for us all.

So we can all meet up there and enjoy the view over the harbour!

The Sailing Club is easy to find, right next to the Harbour Master's office and at the top of the dinghy pontoon (where the water taxi picks up and drops off).

Martin - please tell my mother to have a pint of Guernsey ready for me on arrival!

Ive marked 10 mile intervals on the PP. Any thoughts?

They are a staple! Alderney Flu is terribly common on Sundays.

The Evening meal now stands at:

Tim x15
Paul x6 (Jetskiers)
Tony x2
Trevor x2
Martin & Mel
Keith x2
David & Ginny
Mick x3

The restaurant has asked me to confirm numbers this evening, so it looks like 34 unless there are any late additions.

The stops will be of benefit to the PWCers as they will be ready for a stretch and a slug of water, but be wary of sending confusing signals to any shipping that may be tracking the "fleet" as you pass in front of there intended course.

20 miles in will put you in the path of anything heading in or out of Poole and 40 miles will be in amongst the channel traffic.

I'll bring the seasickness tablets then

Here's a list of the Ribnet boats that appear to have signed up so far:

David + 1 Grimalkin Ribcraft 7.5 Avocet
Trevor + 1 DizzyLizzy Ballistic 6.8 DizzyLizzy
Tim + ? Cin Cirrah Ocean 8.0 tim griffin
Mick + 2 Rapid Solent 6.0 Mick Balch
Tony + 1 Mustard Ribeye 7.85 JABS
Andy + 1 Ditherer Avon 6.2 Andy Moore

Any more (eg Roy Smith)?

It'd be useful and sociable to have similar details for the other boats if they can be posted and I will add them to the list.
