A little Devon cruise

After a wet and windy Transat start, I begged a RIB ride from Plymouth to Torquay. Turned out to be a lovely day. Here's the coastwatch station at prawle Point:

Slapton Sands. This was the location (chosen because of it's similarity to the North France beaches) for the D-Day landing practise which went terribly wrong.

Prawle Point, Start Point lighthouse, Dartmouth......sounds like a whistle-stop tour of the RYA Dayskipper Training Chart 2. As a matter of interest, Richard, what was the direction and rate of the tidal stream to the west of South Coombe Island 2 hours after HW springs at Plymouth on the day in question?

In the second of the Prawle point photos you can see my cousins old coastguard cottage - lovely view and some very fond memories!
