I may have talked one of the "non ribnet" boats I met at Easdale into joining this, although by the time he left he may by now have signed up!

Wee cheeky ask - are the PE lanching peeps still coming, and if so, are you going to the BBQ?

I ask because I have what might be described as an interesting geometry issue with my new aux. Bottom line is I'm going to have to FF the A-frame replacement project, but in the meantime it;s incredibly difficult to get the Aux to stay put on the transom.

If I'm going to be motoring back to PE from the BBQ alone then I will up the priority of the temporary fix, but I have other things that I would rather prioritise next week. (like the carb adjustements as I think I have a sunk float....)

We are planning to BBQ but no idea when it's happening or finishing. That info would be helpful.
The tides suit waiting until later anyway but with sunset at 21:48 I don't want to return in the dark with the kids. It will be a long day and I would plan to depart latest at 20:30 but really need the timings of the BBQ as if it is earlier then I won't hang about too long once I've had my scoff.

Planned route - attached.

I will be on shore - that will not be surprising for people who know me.

If you need a hand at Port Edgar give me time i will come down to give a hand and i will then drive to Granton.

I will have BBQ ready for you at Aberdour on your arrival.

My current plan is to try & arrive at 9-ish aiming for an 0930 dep - simply because depending where I end up being told to park I could have a long walk back to the boat! Worst case I launch, walk a long way & leave, best case I stop at the cafe for one of their awesome bacon rolls first!

According to my compooter it's 6.75 NM from PE to Granton harbour (assuming a low tide & having to stay "in the blue" round Hound Point - Based on the tide tables I reckon a much straighter line will be possible, and the tide will be with us.

09:00 and a bacon roll sounds like a plan. As long as there aren't 1200 dinghy's lying on the slip we should get all the boats in the water in time. It's a fair old PITA launching there with not being able to reverse straight in and then the 6 mile hike from the parking spaces.

Oppies & toppers at Toward, Lasers at Berwick. Both appear to be opens, and those classes used to go to the "big" opens, so those two events will hoover up a lot of the nomadic dinghy racers.

PEYC has nothing on their calendar for Sat, and the "Activity finder" on the Watersports centre website has nothing showing at 0900 either.

Am I going to regret saying "should be OK"?

My good lady is a veggie so she would take that option for the BBQ.
Weather looks ok so shorts and flop flips (poor mans flip flops) 13 degrees tropical !
Light wind with the tide so looking ok.
